Interna is a mental health therapy and wellness services collective of liberation-focused weirdos who deeply affirm queerness, neurodivergence, kink, polyamory, gender expansiveness, cultural complexity, chronic illness, disability, and non-linear healing. We center our services to challenge capitalism, white supremacy, ableism, and cis-heteronormativity. We believe in fair compensation, low bullshit, and therapy that doesn’t sell out to capitalistic ideals.

We are looking to hire licensed providers and Board-approved supervisors here at Interna, for both our Inver Grove Heights location and virtual.     • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy. 

    • Valid state licensure as a Mental Health Therapist

    • Licensed in the state of Minnesota as a LP, LPCC, LICSW, or LMFT or working towards LPCC, LPC, or LICSW licensure  (with at least one year of experience post grad in outpatient clinical therapy)

    • Proficiency in conducting assessments, diagnosing mental health disorders, and developing treatment plans

    • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competency

    • Having a specialization or niche focus to bring to the collective

Billing Specialist

The role of the billing specialist is to assist the financial department in all matters concerning insurance billing, as well as providing administrative support for the department and assisting providers and clients with any issues related to billing & insurance. This role is ever evolving and duties will change based on the needs of the collective.

  • Billing Support

    • File claims with insurance payers

    • Investigate claims that are denied, rejected or in scrub status

    • Ensure claims are paid in a timely matter and investigating missing claim payments after 30 days

    • Collect client balances at the end of each week

    • Reconcile EFT payments in our EHR with bank account deposits

    • Reconcile unallocated payments and investigate insurance take backs

    • Troubleshoot any and all claim and payment issues

    Administrative & Operational Support

    • Check existing clients for active insurance coverage monthly

    • Assist Financial Director with new provider credentialing, as well as maintaining existing provider credentialing and licensure status

    • Troubleshoot client insurance problems with providers via email, phone and Google chat

    • Assist with any client billing issues in a timely manner, communicate with client in a way that promotes mutual understanding, trust & clarity

    • Assist Financial Director with payroll spreadsheet & fix payroll errors

    • Update existing client insurance information

    • Assist clients and providers with EHR issues

    • Manage the Interna billing inbox and respond to emails in a timely manner

    • Manage the Interna Credentialing inbox

    • Coordinate with Front End Admin Specialist about incoming clients and troubleshoot insurance and EHR issues for new and prospective clients

    • Two years of experience or schooling related to insurance billing or credentialing

    • Must be able to manage own tasks and schedule without direct observation

    • Proficient in Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets
