The Green Bottle Method

Sliding Scale Rooted In Liberation and Mutual Care

What is the Green Bottle Sliding Scale Method?

The Green Bottle Method is Interna’s approach to sliding scale pricing. We believe that access to therapy should not depend on wealth or productivity.  Clients can self-select based on lived financial experience rather than income documentation. This model centers redistribution, access, and care for all.

How To Choose Your Bottle:

Each bottle represents a different way of participating in collective care. Financial access is shaped by systems, not personal success or failure. There is no better or worse bottle, and your choice can change as your circumstances change.

Why We Use This Model

Traditional sliding scales rely on income alone and often ignore debt, disability, caregiving, medical costs, and systemic inequities. The Green Bottle Method centers lived experience instead of financial performance and treats care as a collective responsibility rather than an individual transaction.

Choose the rate that feels right, and trust yourself in the process. You won’t be questioned about your choice.

Bottle 1: Redistribution / Reparative Contribution

This bottle is for people with relative financial safety, stability, or flexibility. You are generally able to meet basic needs without ongoing stress and may have access to savings, expendable income, or paid time off. Choosing this bottle actively supports redistribution by helping sustain the practice and expand access to care for others.

(If you can afford more than this, sponsor another person to attend therapy by donating to our therapy fund here.)

Bottle 2: Shared Care

This bottle is for people navigating both access and pressure. You may meet many basic needs while still carrying debt, financial stress, or limited flexibility around healthcare, time off, or unexpected expenses. Choosing this bottle reflects participation in a shared-care model where access and sustainability are held together.

Bottle 3: Access Without Strain

This bottle is for people whose access to money and resources has been constrained by systemic harm, instability, or ongoing financial stress. This may include difficulty meeting basic needs, housing or employment instability, lack of savings, or reliance on community or government support. Choosing this bottle prioritizes access to care without requiring financial strain or self-sacrifice.
