Brittany Richert, MSW, LICSW
Hello! I’m Brittany, and I am so excited to meet you!
My therapy practice centers on you, the client, and what you want to achieve. Clients can expect to feel validated and supported without judgment, with reflections and feedback that honor their values and goals. If you enjoy using creativity, playfulness, and humor, we might connect over puzzles, art projects, or even a game while exploring tough topics.
I am nonbinary, queer, and neurodivergent, and recognize the importance of shared identities. Because my work is rooted in abolitionist values, clients can expect a space that challenges oppressive systems while centering their autonomy and community connections. This means therapy won’t just be about coping, it can also be about imagining new possibilities for living more freely and aligned with your values.
We may be a good fit if you like to talk through your thoughts or want to find ways to process emotions without words, and are looking for a therapist who is a real person - someone who won’t BS or try to push you outside of what feels right for you. I have worked with children, families, and adults in a variety of settings over the last decade, including residential treatment, as a PCA, in public and charter schools, as a Hennepin County Case Manager, CTSS and ARMHS work, adult crisis residential, and in-home therapy.
In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors (especially “up north”), swimming or being in water, learning gardening, cooking, playing video games (lifelong Pokémon Trainer), Dungeons and Dragons, reading fantasy and sci-fi, and snuggling/annoying my cats Skittles and Mosi.
