Charlie Breslin, MSW (he/him)

My values and practice are informed by anti-racism, disability justice, fat liberation, sex- and kink-positivity, and harm reduction. I take a holistic approach that acknowledges how unjust social structures impact us as individuals, and hope to celebrate how your strengths and skills have helped you navigate internal and external challenges. You are the expert on your experiences and on what healing means to you, and I see my role as helping you to identify and connect with the skills you already have, as well as to explore and adapt to the challenges you may have faced.

I am deeply passionate about working with LGBTQ+ folks— as a queer, trans, and polyamorous person myself, I recognize how important it is to feel that you can be your most entire and authentic self in therapy. In line with that, I take an approach that centers personal narratives and emphasizes the power of perspective, identity, and storytelling. I also recognize the importance of relationships, and work to help my clients engage with the people around them in value-aligned, affirming ways. Additionally, I incorporate skills from CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing approaches, and plan to pursue training in relational counseling and narrative exposure therapy in the near future.

Outside of work, I can usually be found reading, antiquing, birdwatching, or hanging out with my cats.

Specialties: 18+, Individual therapy with adults, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, LGBTQ+, polyamory, trauma, life transitions, relationships and attachment theory, depression, anxiety
