Life feels stuck in the same place. Inside, it feels like rush hour traffic, so many thoughts, so many noises, it can be so hard to keep track. Your thoughts are not the kindest and feel scattered all over the place. Your emotions make it feel impossible to figure out the missing pieces. You’re trying to start new habits and make life changes, but you keep finding yourself back where you started. These messages from society and life creep in and it feels like there is something wrong with yourself and your brain. Here is the thing, there’s nothing wrong with you. Sometimes, we adapt in ways that work. Other times, our tools backfire, making our anxieties and depression worse and we turn to other ways of coping.

The systems we live in try to make us fit into narrow boxes that mask who we truly are. Our brains and bodies are diverse, influencing the ways we interact with our world. By recognizing our strengths and developing language for our experiences, we can learn to navigate our lives in ways that feel more authentic to us.

In therapy with me, it’s a collaborative process. Your sessions will focus on exploring your life experiences and how they continue to impact your day-to-day life. As a therapist, I work from an eclectic theoretical orientation to meet a person’s needs in navigating the effects of anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and trauma. Together we will work on understanding how these experiences affect our expectations, relationships, and self-image. I recognize the importance of addressing both mental health and substance use symptoms in a holistic fashion and from a harm-reduction lens. My style incorporates experience across multiple settings, from residential/outpatient treatment programs to in-home therapeutic services.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time outside, regardless of the season. I also love to be active, read, and spend time with friends, family, and three of the best cats in the world.
